Role Summary

The Corporate and Stakeholder Communications Unit is responsible for the development and delivery of engagement activity to a number of identified stakeholder groups. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of activities and channels including media relations, business compliance and stakeholder engagement. This role will support the CCPC’s stakeholder engagement strategy through tracking and supporting activity and assisting in the delivery of external communications programmes.


The CCPC’s stakeholders include:

  • Media: The media is important stakeholder for the CCPC as it is a key channel in helping us fulfil our statutory remit and in informing the wider public about important consumer and competition issues.

  • Consumers: the CCPC informs consumers about their rights and has a specific remit in providing consumers with information on the costs, risks and benefits of financial products.

  • Trade and professional organisations: the CCPC promotes compliance with various legal requirements and regulations by conducting proactive compliance campaigns and engaging with representative organisations in specific sectors to develop understanding of competition and consumer protection legislation.

  • Legal practitioners: the CCPC interacts with the legal profession in the performance of its statutory duties, particularly in relation to merger assessment and enforcement activity.

  • Public representatives: engagement with public representatives is an important component of the CCPC’s work to promote competition and consumer protection issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery of stakeholder engagement & delivery of business compliance communications through maintaining an overall activity calendar, monitoring for potential upcoming events, tracking relevant stakeholder communications, including PQs, highlighting emerging issues of relevance to the CCPC and supporting the development of appropriate communications to these stakeholder groups.

  • Assist in delivering stakeholder engagement and communications – including setting up meetings, drafting correspondence, contributing to the development of engagement plans and assisting with implementation.

  • Contribute to the administration of an effective corporate communications function including tracking media activity, completing weekly and monthly activity reports

  • Oversee invoice payment processes including requesting POs and budget tracking as required.  

  • Assist with media monitoring requirements including acting as point of contact with the relevant supplier, overseeing the CCPC’s monitoring requirements, requesting coverage where required and managing subscriptions to relevant digital platforms.

  • Maintain a log of all speaking engagements, track all external speaking events and proactively identify potential speaking opportunities.

  • Monitor social media and forums to identify trends and potential issues.


Technical and Professional Requirements


  • Third level qualification in Communications/Journalism/PR OR a minimum of three years’ experience in a corporate communications role.

  • Excellent demonstrated written communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively in a style appropriate to relevant audiences.

  • An ability to work under pressure, working efficiently in balancing multiple tasks/ assignments with competing deadlines, whilst maintaining relationships.

  • Excellent attention to detail, and demonstrable proof-reading ability

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.


  • A demonstrated understanding and interest in current affairs.

  • Project management training or qualification.
